brought my dart to a classic car meetup just around the corner from my house today! :] soo sick. there was about 50 cars from the ’20s to the ’70s. mine was definitely the biggest work-in-progress in attendance, but it was still cool to talk to all these old timers and absorb the atmosphere. (not to mention drooling over all the other clean, crisp, flawless fully restored whips)
even though your car is a work-in-progress, never be shy taking it to shows! I’ve had so many compliments on mine even though it looks like a POS compared to the others, and we’ve won 2 awards (one was 1st place!) and like you said it’s awesome talking to other people about your car/their cars/cars in general :)
Agreed! It’s about the fact that you’re a car nut! Unfortunately, I have been to shows and cruises with my dad and his car and sometimes the environment isn’t all that great. Some people really do get too wrapped up in the money they spend and how perfect their car looks…but how much do they really enjoy it if all they do is drive it to the show and back vs. someone with a less-than-perfect-car who drives it daily and doesn’t worry about the weather or a chip or two in the paint? I don’t know, but I do know the bottom line is I won’t be shy about taking my Dodge to the cruises once she’s done. I’m just so happy to finally have her! And I want to get out there and join in the car crowds for real! That’s what it’s about :)
